The awe of the olden-days: 2003

I do not remember exactly what year it was (probably around 2003), but my oldest sister Miriam came home with a new cellphone. But this cell had a feature none of us had yet seen. When text-messaging, it guessed what word you were trying to say.

It was absolutely magical. I remember this experience vividly. We all watched (like the people of Anatevka in Fiddler on the Roof watch the new sewing machine) as my sister demonstrated writing “hello” and other such important words.

It’s so much fun being introduced to something new like that, feeling the exitement of seeing a development you’ve never seen before.

Do you remember moments like this?
